An Indian point-of-view. A global sensitivity.

In 2014, the New York Times Magazine approached Mahesh Shantaram to see if he would be interested in shooting a story for them in the manner that he approaches Indian weddings. That led to the famous masala dosa story and was also Shantaram’s foray into long-form magazine editorial photography.

Shantaram has travelled widely across India and around the world on behalf of renowned features magazines, leading NGOs and corporate clients offering a unique point-of-view as a service. He has worked with experienced photo editors to shape and visualise stories of global interest on contemporary society, politics, economy, business and technology in the developing world. Trust Mahesh Shantaram to produce memorable visuals that can only come from a strong human connection from behind the lens to the front of it.
